Modern geothermal heat pump installations started to appear in the UK 10 to 15 years ago. With the accelerating interest in alternative energy sources, changes to building regulations, concern about carbon emissions and rising energy prices, this technology is now expanding dramatically in the UK.

A constraint on this expansion is the availability of suitably equipped and trained UK drilling companies who can deliver installed solutions at the prices required to compete against other heating and cooling solutions.

Geothermal systems capitalise on the abundance of solar energy found beneath the earth's surface. By using the earth's thermal properties in conjunction with electricity, geothermal systems are capable of heating and cooling homes with unprecedented efficiency - providing cost savings from 30-60% on monthly bills.

Using the combined skills of specialist designers, heat pump suppliers and an extensive experience in soft ground and hard rock drilling, BAM Ritchies is able to provide Geothermal solutions to match many clients’ requirements.

Solutions include deep hole installations up to 200 metres deep and 1.2 metres in diameter.
